My experiences
Travel
Something about taking the plane to an environment completely different to where I was previously is something completely enchanting to me; the smell, the views, the feel, all of it. I consider myself lucky as I tend to travel a few times a year. Not only the act of travelling for a week or a month, but even living some place else.
I was grateful to have had the opportunity to live on the island of Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands for 6 years, and it completely changed my life. It is an experience that will forever stay in my heart not only becoming completely fluent in Spanish, but by being able to call another place my home.

Extra-curriculars
Growing up I have always been very athletic. I have done every sport ranging from ballet, dance, gymnastics and skiing, to tennis, surf, triathlon and swimming. The one that stands out the most is soccer, which I have been doing ever since the age of three. Soccer is a vital part of my life and I have been playing competitively for many years. Ideally, I would love to go professional and represent my country at the national level, as it has been my dream ever since I was a little girl.
Volunteering
During my 6 years in Spain, volunteering was a required task to do for school, having to do at least 6-12 hours per year. Even though it was something the institution made us do, you had to figure out for yourself what you were going to do, with who and how to set it all up.
Most years, I would participate in beach clean ups with my friends and family, as the beaches on my island could get quite polluted due to the tourists. I also helped plant trees in the mountains with my best friend after wildfires burned a large part of the island. This made me be thoroughly invested and helpful in the community which I took pleasure in.
